As far as family history has been passed on about this “lithograph”; it is a commemorative depicting my great grandfather who was a Prussian Uhlan in the Austro Prussian War of 1866. The lithograph was personalized with the Uhlan regiment’s colors, in this case it is believed he was in the 1st West Prussian Uhlan regiment. It was further personalized by taking a photo of him, painting it, and pasting it into place. I have not been able to identify the medal and ribbon painted on his tunic, the medal ribbon does not match any medal ribbons from the Austro Prussian war. I have his medal from that war and it is the medal for combatants in the battle of Konigratz. I have been told the medal depicted on the tunic as identified by its ribbon colors, may be from the Franco Prussian war of 1870, but as far as family history goes no one believes he was in that conflict. Further information regarding this type of military memorabilia would be appreciated. I have only seen one other lithograph like this and it was of a Prussian artilleryman of that era.
