I found these wonderful Northern, 11 x 14 prints at an estate sale. The artist was Mrs Frances Hook. According to the literature with them, these four girls represented the four colors that bath tissue came in.

I just love these prints! They really bring back memories for me of when I was a child. I was a part of a very large family and when Christmas came around, those of us old enough to make a few dollars selling crafts around our neighbourhood, for Christmas Gifts did just that!

I stretched this using chalk, sprayed them with hairspray or a fine lacquer mist and sold them for .50 each! To me, back then, that was a lot!

Now I wished I had kept the originals I sketched from.

I am so happy I stumbled onto this post! Thank You for the memories!

I love these pictures. I had them hanging in my room when I was a child. I always thought they were beautiful and they always gave me a calming feeling.

Thanks, Judiann. You are right, there is a warmth and a gentleness about them.

I have these same four original prints PLUS one more ... the 5th one is a redheaded little girl holding a bouquet of white daisies. My mom sent for these prints back when they were offered and saved them for me for over 38 years so that if I had a little girl someday, I would use them to decorate her room. I was blessed with a little girl in 2006 and these prints made a beautiful addition to her girly room! Sadly, my daughter - now 5 - wants to redecorate her room without these beautiful prints. I have nowhere to store them and would love to pass my 5 original prints to a collector who will cherish them. Please contact me if you are interested!

What a coincidence! I am preparing for a garage sale and had (a long time ago) wrapped two of these that belonged to my wife (Grandmother saved wrappers to get them for her. Other two were given to wife's sister). We framed them in beautiful white carved (gold highlighted) wooden frames and they were hung in our daughters room for years. Our two are the girl with a kitten and the Winter Fluff Girl. We are on the flip side of 70 and cleaning house. Will probably offer them to a collector since our daughter doesn't want them and our grandchildren are boys.
