Although the Parula Warbler is one of the more common bird figurines that Stangl produced, its white glaze coloring is rather rare. The piece probably dates to the the early 1940's. Fulper/Stangl birds were produced from 1940 to 1972 and 1974 to 1978 (the closing of the pottery). Many of the birds were designed by Auguste Jacob. The bird designs were loosely based on John J. Audobon's Birds of America.
Others New Jersey potteries producing bird figurines were Cordey (Trenton) and Vontury (Perth Amboy).
