Their must be at least 100 different types of hammers, I've search the Internet and can not find one that looks like this one. It measure 12 1/4" over all. Any idea?

Cedar shingle hammer . Very badly abused .
Slackjack: I'm not saying you are wrong, but I thought that cedar shingle hammers had more of a tomahawk looking head and were larger?
For some reason I wanna say it is used to hammer the packing inbetween the planks of the hull of an old ship. That's probably wrong, I don't know why I wanna say it...??? :-)
Odauctions: I do not know if they were bigger or not . Few dimensions given. I used GOOGLE IMAGE before posting here . I don't know about tomahawks .
