These pics are closer views of the HAMILTON BEACH MODEL E motor, as well as showing how it mounts to the POWER UNIT stand for use with the grinder/chopper and slicer/shredder attachments.

Pic 1 shows its nameplate, serial # KM126042C. The thumb controlled speed selector switch is above it to the left and under the black bakelite (I think?) main handle on the top. Pics 3 & 4 show the motor atop the POWER UNIT where it can be engaged with one of its beater sockets on the bottom and fastened in place, allowing the grinder or slicer attachments (and/or any others that were available?) to be used independently of the mixer unit base, which doesn't have means for driving those accessories itself.

FOR THE RECORD, I have not plugged this machine up to find out if it remains in working condition, mostly because its power cord has been tied up to its handle long enough that it is *probably* crusty enough that it *really* might not be too happy if I undid it to do so -- though I nonetheless have little doubt the mixer still works just fine -- probably as good or better (stronger?!!) than any modern equivalent machine could do?!! :-) :-) :-)

My son just criticized my food processor by saying I “should get one made in this century”….. this HB jewel of a machine would be perfect to set on my kitchen counter as retaliation for insulting my trusty old perfectly functioning appliance. ;^D

I HEARTILY AGREE, Watchsearcher!! Especially if yours is known as a "food processor", even an "old" one, it'd be newer than the HB -- which itself would still qualify for your son's "within a century" age requirement anyway now, wouldn't it...??!!

I'd love to be able to see the look on his face when he'd notice it?!! <lolol>
