I needed a 'document frame' recently and, knowing that I have at least a couple boxfuls of assorted frames and random framed things, went to my storage to see what I could find. About halfway into the first box, I came upon this one -- it'll do *nicely*?! :-) :-) :-)
It is made of sheet metal formed into a simple but elegant profile pattern, with little diagonal corner pieces at the bevels. Though it looks a little wrong in the pics here, it is actually a very pleasant "slightly tarnished silver" color, which didn't change at all when I cleaned it gently, so I take it is supposed to appear that way. Pic 3 shows its back, nicely felted with a well made easel stand and hanging hook attached. It has a 1950's look to it, to me anyway, but I don't know that, maybe a bit older.
It had an old matted portrait of a little girl showing in it, behind her turned out to be another of a young businessman looking guy. Behind *that* was what's shown in the first pics here, a maybe original folded sheet of card stock embossed with different patterning on its sides, perhaps intended to be a 'choice of backings' if no cut mat was used, and one side of which bears the elegantly printed name "KARMEN-WINGER OAK PARK". Oak Park is a suburb of the City of Chicago in IL (USA) but that's all I know about that.
I left the old photos in the box it had came from with the rest, keeping the K-W card to use as background for its new function in my life, holding and displaying a certain little official document I've recently found myself having a new one of. With my own name on it even -- whoda ever thunkit, just a couple years ago...certainly not **me**...but here I am anyway...???!!! <lolol>
Congratulations on the official establishment of your own business!
