Hello everyone!!
Believe it, or not, my doorstop collection doesn't just consist of animals. This one is titled "Colonial Lawyer" and was patented on November 26, 1925. The facial features and details, such as the gold trim on the shirt ruffles, are just amazing. It's in pristine condition for it to be nearly 100 years old. On the backside of this doorstop you see the words "Pat Applied For" and "Trade WS Mark" at the very bottom edge of the base. It measures 9 7/8" tall and 5 3/8" wide. It weighs a bit over 3.5lbs.
This doorstop was made by Waverly Studio in Wilmette, Illinois. Waverly Studio made doorstops, doorknockers and other cast iron items. Rosa May Pickard was their designer. She was a Kentucky native that was born in 1886 and lived in Evanston, Illinois.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Searching1,
Thanks very much! He has several chips around the base and a few along the edges. Other than that, he's still in remarkable condition.

Eileen,
Thanks!! I always suspected that this gentleman sat atop a desk or shelf out of the way of being kicked around. The photo doesn't show, but there are some paint chips of the base and the backside. But, all in all he's in remarkable condition.
