    Found on the water on the side of a creek in the mountains of Western North Carolina can't tell you much about it other than it's large and looks like some sort of tool like an axe or?..I did put UV light on it and a couple small places it did show what looked like corundum/Ruby but only in a couple spots. Any suggestions of what it may be? Thank you kindly.

      Looks like some sort of tool to me, and iron is strongly represented here. Might be my old eyes but pic on right appears slightly indented on each end, as if held and pushed or pulled and thumbs would be holding it basically on this side. I dunno. :-}. Shot in the dark. It also kind of looks like petrified bone, though. Hmm.

      Yes Rancherswife... I thought about it being a tool also ...that was the 1st thing I thought ...definitely looks like it has some iron in it but the oddness about it is it also has corrundum as a very small part reacts to uv light..... Still mystery thank you for your responses
