I think this is a cannonball gauge. Not sure cuz it folds. It is magnetic. Don't know anything else. Thanks for looking and helping me figure it out.

Seven years ago, I posted a cannonball gauge. Mine is made of wrought iron. Interestingly, your tool has a collapsible handle attached which could be hung on the waist belt. Mine is a simple hook fabricated on the tool.
Your tool is made of brass (so it appears), which is what a cannonball gauge could be made of during the war of 1912 or the American civil war.
Look up my tool of seven years ago. the have similarities that could make it a cannonball gauge.
Cannonball gauges are rare and hard to come by, so continue your research, if it is one, it would be nice to know what era it came from.
Here's the post he's referring to...

It was because of your post seven years ago that I found out what this is. I thank you for your information and will continue to research it. Do you have any idea what it's worth?
I can't give you a dollar price sawgia. I've seen very few of them to give a going price. I believe, because of their rarity, they are quite sought after and would cost $200 and higher. The only reason mine was for sale is because the seller found another one, and in nicer condition. By selling the lesser quality one to me, he lowered the price of the one that he bought. (I also use this technique. It allows me to get items at a lower cost after the sale of the inferior one is sold to someone.)
