my first midcentury find unknown designer/maker

I used to frequent a local coffee shop in which I first saw this chair. When they went out of business I offered the owner $20 for it on a whim. Now its mine. I know very little about the chair itself. I have never seen another piece of the exact same design and have been looking for quite some time. It bears no manufacturers markings and I can't find one anywhere online. It's esque of some Danish pieces, but could have easily been manufactured in the US and sold in a department store. If anyone could provide some insight or thoughts it would be greatly appreciated. (if not it will just keep add to the mystery and allure of this bargain find)
