Curtiss JN(Jenny) Bi-Plane Model
Width of wing - Approximately 31"
Prop to Tail - Approximately 21"
I bought this awhile back, but it is so big...I had to take it outside to get pictures. It's made of some sort of cloth or fabric and wood. Has a few spots of paint loss that I will address soon.(top of tail and one of the symbols on top of wing)
THE JENNY
Introduced in 1915, the Curtiss JN "Jenny" was a biplane built by the Curtiss Aeroplane Company (later became the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company).
It was originally intended as a trainer for the U S. Army during WWI. But after the war it became a very popular civilian plane. Thousands of surplus planes were sold at dirt cheap prices.
Wow!!! She’s awesome Dave!!
Gotta love this Jenny plane, it's a beautiful model
Thanks to Scott & Newfld for the comments. And thanks to all for loving my bi-plane. Once the paint is touched up, it's going to hang with the other garage art bi-planes..
Nice! I had the good fortune to get to ride in a “real” bi-plane a few years ago…what a memorable experience! No idea if it was a Jenny though.
It looks big and sometimes with aeroplanes that is perfect, love the colour and it is a real beaute !~
Thank you Phil, it is a large size. I remembered your Canadian with all your strange spelling..ha ha
