    On 3/18/2022, a "Precious Metal Analysis" was conducted on both The Bell P-39 Airacobra Diamond and Platinum Brooch and The Bell P-39 Airacobra "Order of Victory" Brooch, ( GVII ). ----- Two of the most historically valuable brooches of World War Two, Military Aviation Development, British / American cooperation and mutual military support. ----- Both British Royal Commendations secretly presented to Larry Bell, Founder of The Bell Aircraft Company, by King Peter II ( June 1942 and July 1945 ), Godson and Envoy of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, of The United Kingdom, Great Britain. ---------- A "SPECIAL THANKS" is given to Steve Mersal, President and Owner of "Koved Technical, LLC.", Representing "Thermo-Fisher Scientific", and Joe Harmison of "Koved Technical, LLC.", also Representing "Thermo-Fisher Scientific". -- Koved Technical, LLC. specializes in metal and precious metal analysis for aviation, aircraft manufacturers and other associated industries, where high metal quality, metal content and metal consistency, is critical and required. -- ( WWW.KovedTech.com ) -- ( Koved Technical, LLC., 9404 N.W. 80th Place, Tamarac, Florida, 33321 ), ---------- These two aviation enthusiasts provided their time, equipment and expertise, in conducting "Precious Metal Analysis" on both of Lawrence Dale "Larry" Bell's P-39 Airacobra Brooches. -- Lawrence Dale "Larry" Bell was the founder of The Bell Aircraft Company, ( today known as Bell Helicopter or "Bell" or "Bellflight" ), that provided military aircraft for The United States Airforce, The British RAF, and other Allied Countries at the beginning and during World War Two. ----- Note, This was the first time, in over 80 years, that a "Precious Metal Analysis" has ever been conducted on these two, British Royal, World War Two, Commendations. ---- The equipment used during this analysis was shipped in, "specifically", for this testing and analysis session. ---- A "NITON DXL XRF ANALYZER", desk top, supplied by THERMO-FISHER SCIENTIFIC was used to conduct these test readings. This NITON DXL XRF ANALYZER was calibrated, on site, prior to testing and this equipment and testing method results in a very high degree of analysis, accuracy, and metal content, with zero alterations or damage to the object to be tested or analyzed. ---- Joe Harmison was in attendance and oversaw all readings, data collection, analysis and testing. -------- A "CERTIFICATE OF VERIFICATION" was provided for each of the test reading sites on each of the two brooches. Test readings were conducted at multiple locations on each of the two brooches. ---- Note, the exact precious metal ( elements ) percentages are confidential and can not be disclosed to the public. -------- The general precious metal analysis test findings are as follows: ---------- ( 1 ) The Bell P-39 Airacobra, Diamond and Platinum Brooch consists of Platinum ( Pt ), Iridium ( Ir ), and Gold ( Au ), from higher to lower percentages, with trace amounts of other precious metals. -- Note: The blending of Platinum ( Pt ), ( white in color ), and Gold ( Au ), ( Yellow in color ), is very unique and not the normal for jewelry of this time period. A White color is maintained across the entire brooch. --------- ( 2 ) The Bell P-39 Airacobra "Order of Victory", ( GVII ), Brooch consists of Silver ( Ag ), Gold ( Au ), and Platinum ( Pt ), from higher to lower percentages, with trace amounts of other precious metals. -- Note: The blending of Silver ( Ag ) ( White in color ), and Gold ( Au ), ( naturally Yellow in color ), is very unique and is not the normal for jewelry of this time period. -- Also note: This brooch has "screw on" parts that are Platinum ( Pt ) and other "screw on" parts that are Gold ( Au ), -- with the absence of Silver ( Ag ).       What is the purpose of this? Why is it secretive? And if it's such a secret, why show a picture of the xrf readout?

      Precious metals prepared for the British Royal Family have strict requirements and standards ---- ( as in this case, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother ) ---- this is for proper identification, theft prevention, and copy prevention. --- multiple readings at different locations on an item are required ---- one reading at one test site on the item does not represent the entire item composition --- to get an accurate reading, is a little complex and involved --- especially on items this involved and complicated. Looking at just one reading at one test site is very misleading. This information is useless and does not represent a true and accurate analysis.
