I have a Chippendale chair from the mid to late 18th century owned by Captain Samuel Morris who was for a few years Captain of George Washington’s bodyguard. I am a direct descendant of Captain Sam and the chair was passed down to me within the family. I had the chair appraised recently by two experts from the antique road show who told me it may be worth anywhere between 2-4 thousand dollars.
