This is a harvest hod! Solved by the Reddit community.
I've had this for 3 years. No one knows what it is. Weighs 27 lbs, has been repaired many times. Heavy solid wood reinforced with iron. The hooks and pegs are the most intriguing since they don't seem to let the piece hang to put things in. Seems more like it would swivel on something. It's not a conveyor bucket from any era or country. It might be a storage container for a wagon, but it is so heavy. Not a mile pack, baby carrier, blacksmith tool holder. I've seen one other on eBay but they didn't know what they were selling for $200. So I'm ready for some more guesses. Thank you.

OK, here's another guess: could it be a bucket/scupper (or whatever they're called) that would have been part of a water-wheel kinda thing??

We always like to see lots of pictures, but in this case..you over did it. I'd like to see one picture of the overall object.

Looks a little like an old grain scoop. That front edge is reinforced for a reason...

dav2no1, my thoughts exactly….a front, back, side, bottom view would be great. :-)

I've looked at every kind of grain scoop, conveyer waterwheel or otherwise. I've used Google lens. It's absolutely mind boggling that I can't find anything like it. I'm starting to think it's one of a kind.
Yes I did over do it with the pics. There's no way to take one pic that allows the unique shape and form to be detailed.
