Actually I think this is closer to HO which is 1/87 scale. I think having a French Foreign Legion fort on an HO train layout is a great idea. At 10" x 6" it will take up a fair amount of space on the layout. Plus there are attacking Bedouins to make room for. I will have to post them in a separate post.
I believe this set is a reissue as there is a UPC symbol on the box. The originals were made in the 1960s and 70s. Airfix made tons of these sets from Romans to astronauts. Most of what they made were WWII sets and I have all of them that I will post eventually.
In the meantime enjoy Fort Sahara.
