Hello everyone!!
I've collected these bronze German rabbits with bronze baskets for years now. These are all German made and one or two are from different makers as you’ll notice slight differences in the ears of them. These each measure approximately 8 3/4" tall.
As I've stated before, the legend has it that, on the night before Easter, children would set these baskets out or even hang them on a small tree. The next morning the children would find candy and treats in these little baskets, left by the Easter bunny, hence the Easter basket that we all know so well today originated from this German tradition.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Quite appropriate for the season.
Terrific! Love these bunnies!
Wonderful group of bronze Easter rabbits with baskets, such craftmanship from four different makers! Thank you for the info about the tradition starting in Germany, such a great idea for making children smile
fortapache,
Thanks!! Yes, I too thought it was appropriate for the season.
vintagelamp,
Thanks so much!!!! Glad you like them.
Jenni,
Thanks very much!! It's always been interesting to me that not only did the Easter basket originate from Germany, but so did the Christmas tree we all know so well today.

Well, thank you so very much Eileen!! The two larger ones carry the higher value as they are the oldest, dating into the late 1800's. Interesting how the Easter basket and Christmas tree traditions both came to us from Germany.
these are so cool! and they have lots of baskets to collect lots of eggs! the sculpture and casting are excellent too. do you still have them?
mcheconi,
Thanks very much!! Yes, I have all four of them and even a couple of reproductions. Thanks also for the love and for stopping in!!!
