The fourth of my op shop finds from Wednesday - a Victorian glass vase with applied decoration.
This was sitting next to the Art Deco satin spatter glass vase, which I spotted first...then this! Cheap thrills galore!
It is made from opaque white glass which contains uranium & glows bright green under UV light. Measuring 17.5 cm tall, 5 cm across the diagonally sliced top rim, & 4.5 cm across the base which has a rough, snapped pontil mark, it features applied decoration of red cherries with an amber leaf trail. There was once a handle, but it has been broken at some point, leaving a small remain.
It cost me only $4. So happy to make it mine because it is still lovely despite the damage.
Most likely Bohemian origin.
I have had a super run of luck in the local op shops this week...today I scored a brand designer new suit for a bargain price...
Like you, I love these applied pieces!!
