I found this burl box recently. it cost me a whole dollar! i like burl boxes alot and this one is kind of unique. not sure what kind of wood it is though.

Looks like African Padauk wood. It has an almost orange color to it naturally. Very easy wood to work. I still have a piece of it 3" x 12" x 49". It isn't terribly expensive and frequently used in furniture like tables.
