Hello everyone!!
Among all of my rabbit and hares is this miniature bronze sculpture by Joseph Addotta. She’s small, but full of detail. I do love her pose and the expression on her face. She’s solid bronze and only measures 2 1/8" tall. Not exactly sure when this one was produced, but here is a bit of history of Joseph Addotta that I was able to find on the world wide web.
Joseph Addotta was originally born in New York but not creates in his Southern California studio. Beginning as a jeweler, Mr. Addotta spend years studying traditional techniques of metal smithing, here in the United States as well as in Europe. He eventually moved into sculpture, using the Lost Wax Technique of casting, designing and creating for numerous collectors, galleries, fine stores and museums. Among the clients of Mr Addotta have been Gumps, Neiman Marcus, the Nature Company, The Southbay Galerie, Hamilton Studio, Natural Wonders and the most discriminating collectors throughout the world. This award winning artist has been included in many fine exhibitions.
Mr. Addotta now turns his attention to the world of miniatures. He is now combining his abilities in jewelry and sculpture together. Many original designs as well as recreations of the most famous works of art are included in this collection. And new works are being added all the time.
Conceived in genius, formed by hand and preserved in metal, these artistic achievements have acquired international acclaim. For in creating these fine sculptures Mr Addotta's work reflects a profound feeling for the living beauty of the world around us.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!
