I purchased this a week ago from a charity and love it. It’s a table that fits my simple style. There are imperfections but that’s what makes it more unique. It has a wood veneer that’s slightly chipped on the curve and the underside looks unfinished. I don’t believe a prominent designer would leave the underside unfinished.
I’ve searched everywhere but have not found markings. It has old, simple flat-head screws. Very solid and well made.
Would you kindly share your thoughts?
Thank you.
Welcome to CW. My opinion is, you have way too many pillows! Just kidding.. Interesting shape..I don't think I've seen furniture that was finished on the bottom side.
nice table; looks like it may have had a glass top originally...
That would make sense with the lip on each side. Can probably find a glass for cheap. Would change the look..
I could not identify my coffee table either, but that makes it all the more desirable to me, and after having it for more than 35 years I would never trade it in !~
Its 'curved' profile shape compliments the blue chairs wonderfully -- as if they were meant to be together! :-) :-) :-)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I believe you have a great idea TallCakes - a glass top makes sense - with magazine storage between the glass and wood surface. Dav2no1, good point about the unfinished bottom but as for the pillows - they’re aesthetic comfort.
