    Very similar masks were used in Guatemala, so it could be from there. It looks a lot like the work of a Don Antonio who i met in Uruapan, Michoacan many years ago.

      thank you mp.kunst. it sure is from Michoacan and more specifically - from Uruapan and even more specifically by Don Vitoriano - someone i met around 25 yrs ago. i now have three masks by him. i confirmed it with a mutual friend of ours from Uruapan. what a coincidence!
