Hello again everyone!!
Another recent doorstop find is this wonderful cast iron Charlie Chaplin doorstop that was produced for Keystone Films in 1915. This one depicts Charlie Chaplin as he appeared in "The Tramp", one of his most loved films. I have another Charlie Chaplin that I posted a few years back, but that one isn't near as old as this one is. Though this one is marked 1915 KFC and Keystone Films, I'm not sure of which foundry cast him. It still retains most of it's original paint. It measures 9 3/4" tall and the base is 4 3/4" wide.
Thank for stopping in for a look!!!
Scott
Awesome
Ahh a classic!
Fantastic Charlie Chaplin doorstop, he almost looks about to do his wiggle walk!!
clockerman,
Thanks very much!!
Dave,
Thanks!!! He's a classic indeed!
Jenni,
Thanks!! Yes, he does look as though he's going to start his waddle walk anytime. I love all of the old Charlie Chaplin movies. The Tramp and The Kid are my favorites.
Searching1,
Thank you so very much!! I'd be willing to say that this one was kept on a shelf on display and not used as a doorstop. That would account for the nice paint condition. Thanks for the wonderful compliment!!

Thanks Eileen!! My oldest piece would to be a leather covered trunk that was made in 1805. My oldest doorstop dates to the 1890's and my oldest book dates to 1842.
