Pictured here are four PINT salesman sample display baby top milk bottles. They were professionally painted inside in the 1930's by the DAIRY DISPLAY COMPANY INC. ...ELMIRA NEW YORK to represent milk inside the bottle. These pints include 1) PURITY DAIRY...STEUBENVILLE OHIO.. 2) HARSHBARGER DAIRY...ALTOONA PENNSYLVANIA.. 3) BEECH GROVE DAIRY...UTICA NEW YORK.. 4) GUSTAFSON'S DAIRY...RICE LAKE WISCONSIN.
Cute baby top faces on these!
Thanks Newfld. These salesman sample baby tops came from the loft of the Pecora Dairy. Michael Pecora invented the baby top style in 1936.
I have a few "Baby Top Bottles". I think they make a very nice collectable because they vary in their style and origin.
I have an interesting one that is called a "Cop Top". It has a police cap as part of the bottle.
I have a pint-sized baby face. I never knew that they were salesman's samples.
Thanks for the posting, it's great.
