    Hello everyone!!
Another recent find is this great little vintage cast iron squirrel. It's actually referred to as a tree hugger as you'd attach this little fellow to the side of a tree trunk. He's quite detailed from his little toes to his nose. Though he's lost a majority of his original paint, he's still quite a nice piece. This would be one of the few squirrels I have in my collection. He measures 9 1/2" long and 9 1/2" wide. He's numbered "782" on the end of his tail, but I still don't know which foundry cast this one. In regards to it's age, I'd have to place him 1940's-1950'sn period, possibly older.

Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!
    Scott

      Eileen,
My red oaks produce huge amounts of very large acorns every 2-3 years. We have lots of squirrels and our three dogs are so accustomed to the squirrels and rabbits that neither the dogs of wildlife are phased by one another. So, they all live in harmony here:)
