Here is an early Edison-Mazda light bulb with a 12-strand filament. I believe that they call this style of bulb a balloon tip. It dates from 1906 or 1907 and still works perfectly. The lamp has a Bakelite base and is mounted in a chain pulled dimmer switch that also works great. The dimmer switch and bulb are mounted in a porcelain base.
