This imported Japanese porcelain planter is about 6" high x 5" wide x 6" deep. It has the original Takahashi label on the bottom. Glossy finish with hand painted beaks and feet. Circa 1970s and not seen that often as it is pretty fragile. When found, they are often pretty expensive. This one has some minor crazing in the finish so was under $5. Too good to pass up but now I have to worry about breaking it. Maker not known. I think that there are a couple of other finish versions of this planter, one other finish being finely crackled. I also see these with ribbons around their necks.
I love Takahashi everything and this pair of geese are magnificent!! I came very close to purchasing a pair of Takahashi rabbits recently and I waited too late and missed out on them.
Thanks for your comments, jscott0363! Sorry about the rabbits! Better luck next time!
