Hello everyone!!
Another duck from my doorstop collection. This one is solid cast iron and was made sometime in the late 1800's. This duck's original color was white with a yellow beak and there are still traces of its' original yellow beak color in pic #4. Though this is not its' original color, it has developed such a nice patina that I wouldn't change a thing about it. This duck is rather small and is referred to in all of the doorstop books and websites as a doorstop, but some may consider it a paperweight. It measures 6 7/8" long, 3 1/4" tall and 2 1/4" wide. It weighs in a 2lbs 9oz. So, it does have a bit of heft to it.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Love the patina. I'm sure you've seen I own many duck pieces. And here's some art I posted a long time ago..in the lower left picture, you can see my cast iron duck toys. I'll have to make a new post with those. New camera takes way better pictures..
