Hello Folks
I acquired this watch from England recently but I was surprised to find how it worked.
The Waltham 16sz 23j Vanguard pocket watch with wind indicator.
Normally I thought this was an railroad watch, however it turns out to be a pendant set???
I have been collecting PW for 40 years and this is my first one.
Does anyone know how many pendant set Vanguards were made that were a wind indicator?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks everyone who showed love to this gine timepiece, very much appreciated.
Once again I feel the love, thanks everyone.
I forgot I love this PW for the silver case made by ALD (Aaron Lufkin Dennison) a member of the early Waltham Watch Co.
Wonderful history!!!
You can Google pocketwatch data base enter serial number on movement, and you can get more info... Dennison started his watch case co in 1862.
Also I don't think case is original to watch...
There is one other important thing about this watch that no one has noticed.
This watch is pendant wind and pendant set.
Some members of NAWCC says all wind indicators are lever set. I am having watch checked as original.
