I just found this Crouch and Fitzgerald trunk and had to get it since it seems to have all of its original hardware and is decent shape to start a restoration. This will be my first trunk restoration and I would like to find out as much about it as possible before starting. I can’t seem to find any online with similar wrapped corners, numbered plus on front and double front locks. Does anyone know anything about this trunk? Perhaps what year it is from and the value of it?
This trunk is a nice find a (Raw hide) example of a Crouch & Fitzgerald jewelry and sample case 1903-07 If you search for that you will find advertising for this trunk on E-bay. Below are just a few of G.Crouch patents he had around 25 or so as well as H. Gilson patents that C.&F. used or owned. Hope this helps, much luck with it.Thanks for the post.
