NorthernTr…

I just picked up this trunk today, and I'm trying to identify when it was made (as close to the year as possible) so I can repair the lock.
So far, I've dated it to around the 1900s, when Schmit had moved to Oshkosh, due to the label, but if anyone has anymore ideas on when they stopped production of this model, that would put me closer.
The rest I can handle, but the lock isn't one I can pick and the previous owners just removed the bolt heads to take the bottom off so that it could be opened. I'd like to get it working again if possible, and if not, find a close enough match that I can safely remove and replace it with working hardware.
If anyone wants to know my restoration plans: I plan to line it with a red satin, if I have enough, and if not, go with a wallpaper route. I'll be replacing the handles, and cleaning all the hardware, replacing what I need to. I also plan to sand it down and paint it a lovely rich brown.
