Ninth plate ruby ambrotype of two men showing their support for Abraham Lincoln in the 1860 Presidential Election.
Often Wide Awakes wore a uniform with capes and oil cloth hats. They are also photographed holding parade torches.
The oil cloth hats were usually adorned with Eagle pins.
These two Wide Awakes are sporting the typical Eagle pins on their jackets.
A very unusual image of this era and very desirable.
My photos of my ambrotype— do not copy or use in any form without permission.
