Porcelain hand painted yunomi

This yunomi is about 3" tall. It is signed on the bottom. Pretty certain it is Japanese but I cannot read the mark. I think I have it oriented correctly?

This is an interesting design, hand painted on all sides in three panels showing a flower, perhaps an anemone? Lots of details, rings painted inside and out, differing glazes on the bottom, etc. A lot of work here and very well done. The anemone symbolizes relaxation in Japan, so a fitting theme on a tea cup. I do not understand the meaning or purpose of the orange background......
