Hello everyone!!
Another waterfowl doorstop that I own is this vintage cast iron "Three Geese" doorstop made by Hubley and designed by Fred Everett, a well known wildlife author for his time. Hubley cataloged this doorstop as #457 "Three Geese" and it was made sometime during the late 1930's. The number 457 is embossed in the lower left hand corner of the backside. Though it's experienced a bit of paint loss, it's still in amazing condition.
There are so many reproductions of this doorstop and even reproductions can have the number 457 embossed on the backside like the original. But, the reproductions won't have the Fred Everett signature and the beaks on the geese are not as defined as this original is. This doorstop is signed by Fred Everett in the lower righthand corner (pic #4). It measures 8" tall and 8" wide.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!
