I found this amazing lamp at an antique shop and fell in love with it. It was just $28 and I knew I had to have it. It didn't come with a lampshade so I began looking for one, but I wasn't sure what went on it. So, down a rabbit hole I went....this is what I think. I think it's a Frankart piece but I don't know. Before I discovered all the information on it, I took it home and tried to clean it. I first used Brasso but that didn't do a good job, so then I went and bought some Barkeepers Friend thinking that it was just varnished brass (mind you, I literally know nothing about antiques and especially how to clean them). And so then it appeared that the brass was coming off? Ugh....I hope I didn't screw it up...truly....and if anyone can tell me any information on this beautiful amazing lamp I would be super grateful! I did wind up finding an awesome lampshade for it on etsy for $30 and I think it works perfectly with it! Thank you and have a great day!
Its a wonderful art deco piece, I really do not think Frankart when I see the piece. It does not compare at all from what I have seen of Frankarts work and from what I have owned. It does not have the depth of frankart pieces and the fantasy factor is much more Art Deco in your lamp. I love the shade you picked. There were a lot of Art Deco lamp pieces and this one may be fromthe period.
If you are more interested in the money factor, Hagenauer goes for better money and just from first glance LOOKS like their work. I do not have time right now to search but I own books on Hagenauer's work, try to research them.

I found this link and I think that is why I thought they were frankart. Any information though on the accurate history would be so appreciated. Thank you so much for the kind words on the shade....I think I really lucked out on it. I am so in love with the whole piece and so many friends comment on how beautiful it is! I have already told all my kids they are not to get rid of it after I die lol....
