I've tried Google images, and was unable to find anything that looks like this. I am guessing it is some type of utensil, it is silver. It has no makers name or any type of mark. I'd be grateful for any help.

I think the nuns at the school I went to
used this on some of the kids
I myself am an ex-Catholic school student, your nuns were a lot kinder that mine.
mechanical olive tongs; but could be used for other things like sugar cubes or pickles, etc...
