    Hello everyone!!
You may have seen my previous post of a Kenneth A. Ottinger bronze sculpture titled "Four Women". Well, here's the second Ken Ottinger sculpture that I have in my collection. This one is also from 1977 and titled "Did You Drop This?". It's signed and numbered 6 of only 12 ever made. Mr. Ottinger's sculptures tend to fascinate me to no end how even the smallest details were included in this sculpture. This one measures 9" tall, 8 1/2" long and 7" wide.

As with my other Ken Ottinger sculpture, this too came from the estate of Laura Mako who was a famous interior decorator to many celebrities including Dean Martin, Bob Hope, Danny Kaye, President Gerald Ford, Henry Mancini and many others. She passed away in 2019 at the age of 102. I feel very fortunate to be able to own two Ken Ottinger sculptures from this incredible lady's estate and I treasure them both.

Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!
    Scott

Great piece! You might consider breaking the biography up into sections. I do that. I think it makes for easier reading..

I see why you love the details: the little bird, the board sidewalk, the ladies’ purse and umbrella, the facial expressions….I fell like I’m observing the actual scene!

Just a fun thought: wasn’t it a ploy of ladies to “accidentally” drop their hanky so that a nice handsome man could return it to them….they could feign surprise but, actually, the trick worked as planned and they got a face-to-face with the fellow without going thru the “proper “ channel of a formal introduction.
Cunning! Brazen? It worked in this case!

      Watchsearcher,
I think you’re spot on!! Yes, I do agree that it was most definitely a ploy to meet the handsome gentleman by “accidentally “ dropping their hanky:)

    11. jscott0363 jscott0363, 2 years ago
Thanks Dave!! Yes, I think that bird was hoping she'd drop something for him to eat:)
