    This is the only vintage article I have found on Tonala pottery.

    Aztec Indians Revive the Oldest Industry on the American Continent, by E. Macy Kauffman, December 1921, pp 545-547, Illustrated World Magazine.

    Quote from page 546 "The pottery made in Tonala is pure Aztec and practically the same designs found in Quatama and Yucatan. Professor Hewitt of the Smithsonian Institution believes"
