Hello everyone!!
As I mentioned in my previous cast iron pig posting, here’s my large vintage cast iron Gloucester pig bank. I love her Gloucester pig color and pattern, especially those eyes! She’s probably not what you’d consider old, but she’s from the 1940’s-1950’s era. There is a reproduction of this pig available in several different color patterns, but those are typically easy to identify by the phillips head screws, newer paint and rougher castings. This one is an original though. As I mentioned, she’s a large one and measures 17 1/2” long, 8 3/4” tall, 6 1/2” wide and weighs a whopping 21lbs empty!!!!

I see a nice 14 inch or so 36cm lion doorstop at auction coming up at sworders auction co in uk for sale at june 14 auction. Nice Heraldic lion.

Thanks Eileen!! This one will hold quite a few coins. I certainly wouldn't want to be picking it up when it's full. I'm sure it'd be twice as heavy, at least. And yep, I do know the history of the piggy bank origination, but not until a few years ago. The pygg clay an all. Pretty neat isn't it?

I have got one of these but black and white . I have asked about information about mine . The age and value . I have googled what information I can find which isn’t a lot . One sold at auction for 545 US dollars. Love yours .
