Here are two pair of the tools we're all supposed to "pull ourselves up by our boot-straps" with. Or something like that. ;-) :-)
These can be used to help get tightly fitting boots (cowboy, equestrian, etc.) onto one's feet, using the small leather loops often found at or inside the tops of such boots, by hooking them in those loops thus providing 'handles' to help pull them on over the ankles.
Around 7" long, they are basically identical but for the wood handles, made of chromed metal without any marks. The red pair were found singly (years apart?!) in $5 bags of 'miscellaneous household things' at thrift stores, the other pair came to me together.
