I got this vintage sink/washbasin from the ReStore (for cheap!) because of its salmon-pinkish color, which very nearly matches the accent color used in my ca.1954 ceramic tile bathroom, where the original sink is long gone and replaced by a really ugly modern "vanity" cabinet. It could have even got itself installed in there since I got it except for two things -- a) it did not come with the cast iron wall bracket it needs to hang from, and b) shortly after I found this one I found *another* of the same color, slightly larger and with a matching pedestal, that'd look even better in there. (but alas, is also without its wall bracket... <groan>)
I don't know who made it, the various markings cast into its underside don't show that but do suggest a 1955 manufacture date. :-)
Lucky you for getting the pink sink! Those are not easy to come by now.
During my childhood, my dad built us a new house. Since there were 5 girls….6 counting my mother, we got to have all pink fixtures in one of the bathrooms!
Another bathroom, I suppose he thought would be his, had brown fixtures. But, the females essential took over both. There was a 3rd bathroom - just plain ol’ white….that one became his.
50 years later, those pink and brown fixtures were still right there! Cast iron, made to last.
Definitely from the 50's. I remember our pink sink and tub in our home in 1957. It had all pink fixture in the main bath.
