This is my 1950's Cavalier c-51 coke machine
I restored. Machine was completely tore down. Inside liner
was sandblasted then powder coated. Outside was soda blasted
then painted. Chrome parts were all redone. Refrigeration unit
repaired/rewired. The machine was done keeping as close
    to original as possible.

Very nice !! I debating a true-to-original resto on the cooler I just got. Someone put lock hasps on the doors, now there are a few screw holes needing attention and a few dents and dings

Nice job magcag01! Did you do the resto yourself? LOOKS AWESOME!

I had the inside liner blasted/powder coated by a powdercoater.
I had the outer shell sodablasted, then painted by a body shop. Other
than that i did it all myself. I fabricated a new base. Made a new door liner.
Did some welding on it where needed. It helps having my own machine shop to reproduce parts. Basically, a lot of research and elbow grease to do one of these. But the satisfaction of saying I did that is great. Oh yeah, my bride helped
quite a bit also. She's not afraid of getting her hands dirty.

Dan, the best places I found for parts are Funtronics.com,
      and Soda Jerk Works.

Dan, one thing that is very important and helpful is to take as many digital
pictures as possible when taking the machine apart. Even take pics as you
take something apart bit by bit. Makes assembly soooo much easier. Every part should be put in a ziploc bag and tagged(with bolts, nuts, etc.) I found this was the most important thing I did as it was 9 monthes later putting it back together.

You did an excellent job on the "Cavalier 51 Coke Machine". I recently purchased one that I will also be restoring. Thanks for the information you gave on how you did some of the restoration.
Do you know where I can get any replacement parts, particularly the whole gasket that goes on the inside of the door?
      Thank you

Can you tell me where I can get parts for my C-51 . I don’t have a parts list and I know I need a new compressor deck. Thanks for any help.

I have one in amazing condition. Any idea of the value
    13. magcag01, 5 years ago
I have no idea what these are worth lately. It seems prices have dropped on these old machines in the last yr or 2. But it is worth more to me as I have no intentions of selling it. Maybe try Soda-machines.com for machine value. I will guess about $1,500.00 in perfect condition to the right guy. Hope this helps.

I get parts from Funtronics.com. They are great, very helpful.
    15. Kriss, 5 years ago
the original owner paid 20,000 for it....not me. It's pretty and not going to sell but that's why I'm curious on a rough value.

Looks great! Do you still have it?
    17. Jolly-Mongoose-8091, 2 years ago
Great job. I would only change parts that the machine needed to function. It's a purely personal thing, but I love the patina of the old, beat up but still ticking machines. Sentimentality on my part. Of course, you'd want it looking as nice as possible if it was in your home.
