Lovely bird of paradise brooch Jenni, they are such a popular brooch because of their beauty I suppose?! The red is a lovely softer shade of red actually, almost more deep coral. .? Gives him a nice tropical island/coastal feel :)

Lauren I totally agree, this coral red makes the bird more tropical, as if it can be found among the many hued animals of the Amazon - I used to get a Brazilian cable TV channel, and they have such colorful species there, it's an animal lover's paradise (my husband went to Brazil once on business, if there's ever a next time I'm going too, esp to see their zoos & rainforest).
