I don't know what I'll ever do with the poor thing (toss it in the rust garden somewhere?) but it was *free* or it'd hit a dumpster, so I grabbed it. ;-)

This old metal 1/2" drill was made by Sears CRAFTSMAN and was reversible with the toggle switch on one side. Pic two should readily show that it must have met its end in a somewhat violent (though probably also ridiculously instantaneous, as such incidents can be?) fashion somewhere, which hopefully also didn't take its operator's wrist/arm along for the...ummm..."break"...? <eeek><nono> If not seen at first glance, notice that its Jacobs chuck is not only missing-in-action, but *broken off entirely* including the end of the motor shaft it threaded onto -- *THAT* took some torque??!! <lol>

Looks like someone then attempted to open it up to see about repair, apparently deciding otherwise (for whatever reason) and keeping its nameplate for a souvenir, pic 3 shows where that must have been on top next to the simple but well made pipe handle someone had added to it. Without the plate I don't know what model# it was or its actual age beyond a 1950's/60's guess -- if anybody does happen to recognize it, please leave a comment just for fun! :-) :-) :-)

There are a bunch of YouTube videos on repairing these drills.
