They did exactly what it said on the tin
[Mainly by numbing your throat due to chloroform and bensoin]
    Standard tin with hinged lid sized 95 x 60 x 20 mm
They were quite expensive back in the 1950s but they did include purchase tax

Know what "1'9 including purchase tax" refers to ?
    2. Dave_Sandra Dave_Sandra, 2 years ago
The Britiish Pound sterling before decimalization was made up of 240 pennies
      or 20 shillings
1/9 is one shilling and nine pence or 21 pennies
That is equivalent to slightly less than 10 new pence today
Purchase tax was a sales tax set at 33 1/3 % on goods classed as luxury items

Actually I understood the 1st part, but was wondering how tax could be included if it varied. U explain that too.
