Made from a dense, grey stoneware with remnants of the polychrome, natural pigment decoration it once would have been painted with & the slots in her hair one would imagine would have been dressed with silk ribbon or the like, this little lady has such a serene yet unique expression.
One of my new favourite pieces.

Yes except I purchased it from the sale it appeared in after that sale.
I'm confident that it is what I have labeled it as, it's taken me countless years but my eye is finally showing me what I should see, not what I want to see.
