I gotta admit, I don't have the slightest idea how these could have been made and/or by what kind of cutting equipment -- they are both barely more than literal "slices" of railroad track -- almost as if someone cut them with a meat slicer or bread knife.
But last time I checked, real railroad track is still generally just a wee bit too..., oh..., SOLID IRON maybe, for such a slicer/knife???
So maybe they're 'trimmings', maybe they're 'shims', I don't really know. Now they're just a couple more semi-unique bits of my railroad iron collection... ;-) :-)
