Hello everyone!!
Summer 2022 is proving to be a very busy summer for us, so I haven't had a lot of treasure hunting time lately. However, I was able to find this antique cast iron English Bulldog doorstop. It was made by Hubley in the very early 1900's and cataloged as #220 Bulldog. This is one of the earliest versions I've seen as this one is assembled with a single bolt and square nut, whereas the later versions were assembled with a single screw. Another interesting item that I noticed is that screw head, though concealed, is on the opposite side of where it is on the later produced versions. This was also produced by National and Albany foundries. This one was also evidently treasured by it's owner as it was kept indoors and still retains 98% of it's original paint. Unlike the 3 piece still bank version that I recently posted, this one is a 2 piece design. It measures 8 13/16" long and 6 1/4" tall and weighs 4lbs 10oz.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look at my cast iron English Bulldog doorstop!!
Scott
Awesome English bulldog Scott, such an impressive head & face - can almost picture him walking next to Churchill! Great design & excellent condition for age
Jenni,
Thanks very much! Yep, he looks like he belongs right by Winston Churchill's side.

Thank you Eileen!!
We had a lot of dogs on our farm, but no Pugs or Bulldogs. Most were just stray dogs that wondered up to our farm:)
