    Nice quarter plate tintype of a Union soldier in front of a busy backdrop.

    This backdrop has it all— tents, troops, cannon, fort and the American Flag!

    Soldier is wearing a sack coat and has tucked his pants into his boots.

    Nice tinting on this one as well!

      the hands are rare, you can see the inflammation in them..... perhaps he was suffering

      Thanks watch— looks like a watch chain, can’t discern what else.

      I don’t see swollen hands (on actual photo) kiva— maybe my photo angle is distorting the image?

      Skinny/ lean is typical of the era.

      In fact, heavy guys in a photo were once helpful in determining an image was a fake/ showed re-enactors!
