This 2 1-4" octopus brooch has blue and green enameling in a 24K goldplated setting. Created by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston MA after an illustration from a book in the museum's Dept of Prints, Drawings & Photographs ca 1980, with MFA signature on back
Wonderful octopus!!
That is such a cool brooch! Who would have thought of an octopus brooch?! I also love the fact his tentacles look like trailing seaweed? It's the really rich emerald color that helps them look plant like too I think?
Ooohoo!..love him..
Gorgeous piece and yet with the most beguiling creature, an octopi !~
Fantastic! That would be so fun to wear.
Special thanks to everyone for the love

Thank you Scott for your awesome compliment for my unusual octopus find, multiple arms out in embrace :)
I know Lauren, is this not super cool, I bought it yrs ago & who knew it's like a classic today! If you look at a real octopus they're not too pretty and are rather scary, so that Museum definitely improved their look - the head reminds me of a Martian, and yes the tentacles are very seaweed-like and such a pretty pearlized green. Thank you for your fantastic praise
Penny I'm so glad you love my quirky octopus, thank you for your delightful comment
Thanks much Phil for your marvelous compliment for this octopus, agree that this ocean creature is most beguiling and mysterious!
Andrea thank you for your lovely praise, I will have to get up the nerve to wear this eye catcher - how about to a seafood restaurant lol :)
Very grateful to you all for the love
