This landscape painting is signed and looks like T. Del..... I cannot make out the name. The date is either 1849 or 1889. It is a dark colored landscape oil in a huge frame that was probably painted over in white. I am trying to figure out the artist's correct name and time period.
Any information is appreciated. It has been in the family since before the 1950's. I have posted once before as unsolved, but had no luck.
Perhaps someone out there will see it now. Thank you so much.

Hi there, the first letter is actually a cursive capital F, this is a piece by American landscape artist Frank DeHaven (1856-1934).

DeHaven utilized a number of different signatures throughout the course of his career so I would recommend consulting his other work from the 1880's for comparable examples. I could not find this exact piece, but it appears nearly identical to the 1885 painting "Landscape with Stream."

I hope that this information is helpful to you, congratulations on owning such a beautiful painting!

Thank you so so much!! I posted this once before and no one apparently could figure it out! Great job! I have another fine art posted, which also has not been figured out. It is a sunset or sunrise. Very old. I am wondering if you can check out my postings and find it. Otherwise, I will have to post it again. Maybe, you will be able to tell me who the artist is?
